Day 1 : Paris
Arrival in Paris. Spare time to rest from the journey or walk around the sningly beautiful French capital. Accommodation.
Day 2 : Paris - Giverny - Etretat - Honfleur - Caen
Breakfast and meeting our guide early in the morning. Departure to Giverny where we will visit the evocative gardens of Claude Monet. We will continue to Etretat, an inspirational place for artists, where we will marvel at the astonishing cliffs of the Normand coast. In the afternoon, we will walk around the picturesque streets of Honfleur, a seaside village with great artistic wealth. Arrival in Caen and accommodation.
Day 3 : Caen - Beaches of the Normandy Landing - Mont St. Michel - St Malo
Breakfast. Departure to the beaches of the Normandy Landing. We will remember the spectacular offensive that led to the end of World War II by visiting Omaha Beach and stopping by the American Graveyard. We will continue to the Gothic abbey of Mont St. Michel. Tour with a local guide to the renowned “Wonder of the West”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrival in St Malo, spare time to walk around this corsair city enclosed in its walls. Accommodation.
Day 4 : St. Malo - Dinan - Rennes
Breakfast. Departure to Dinan and tour. With its almost 3 km of walls, Dinan and its 15th-century castle proudly stand over the river Ranee. We will continue to Rennes, a university town with more than 2000 years of history and the capital of Brittany, and take a scenic tour with a local guide. Accommodation.
Day 5 : Rennes - Chambord - Chenonceaux - Tours
Breakfast. This day we will walk around the splendorous landscapes of the Loire Valley. We will visit Chambord, the result of the extravagant dream of King Francis I. This hunting palace is a symbol of his power and visionary spirit. After that, we will continue to the elegant Chenonceau, “the Ladies’ Chateau” due to the different women he conquered. This Renaissance masterpiece, with its priceless art collections, its perfectly preserved rooms and its flowery gardens, will provide us with magical moments. In the afternoon, we will stop to taste the famous French pastries and have a tea in a historical café in the area in the genuine style of Marie Antoinette. Arrival in Tours, spare time and accommodation.
Day 6 : Tours - Bordeau
Breakfast. Departure to Bordeaux, the city of wine, arrival and scenic tour: Place de la Bourse, Saint Pierre quarter, Cathedral, river Garonne... The golden stone of its buildings confers a fascinating beauty to the city, specially at dusk. In the evening, gourmet dinner in one of the exquisite restaurants of Bordeaux to taste traditional French food. Accommodation.
Day 7: Bordeaux - St. Emilion - Bergerac - Bordeaux
Breakfast. We will dedicate this day to discovering the region of Aquitaine, visiting the French countryside and tasting its wines. We will begin with a visit to St. Emilion with a local guide: it is a medieval town standing on a hill surrounded by vineyards. During the visit, we will discover the underground city: Trinity Chapel, Catacombs, monolithic Church. After that, we will live a unique sensory and cultural experience: we will receive a class for beginners on wine tasting. In the afternoon, we will discover Bergerac, the city linked to the name of Cyrano and the capital of the “Bergeracois” wines. Return to Bordeaux and accommodation.
Day 8 : Bordeaux - Carcassonne
Breakfast and departure to Carcassonne, a unique fortified medieval city with its 52 towers. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its history is marked by Catharism and the Crusades. Lunch included, where we will taste the typical dish from Carcassonne, the delicious Cassoulet, and the most famous French dessert, crêpes. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the Castle, including the entrance. Journey to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 9 : Carcassonne - Avignon - Arles - Aix-en-Provence
Breakfast. Our journey continues to Avignon. Tour with a local guide and entrance to the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes): an impressive fortress and a sumptuous palace of the 14th century which witnessed a succession of nine Popes. In the afternoon, we will discover Arles, a city which still preserves magnificent Roman remains, particularly its amphitheatre. This city also inspired artists like Van Gogh and captivated others like Picasso. Arrival in Aix-en-Provence and accommodation.
Day 10 : Aix-en-Provence
Breakfast. Scenic tour of Aix-en-Provence, historical capital of Provence. The Cours Mirabeau, marked by plane trees, fountains, cafés and 17th and 18th-century villas, the Rotonde fountain, Place des Quatre Dauphins, Atelier de Cézanne... It is, without a doubt, a city to walk around and enjoy unhurriedly. After that, we will attend a Provence cuisine workshop where we will discover the secrets of the rich gastronomy of the area. Spare time and accommodation.
Day 11 : Aix-en-Provence - Calanques National Park - St. Tropez - Carmes - Nice
Breakfast. Early in the morning, we will travel the coast between Cassis and Marseilles by boat in order to wonder with Calanques National Park, its great landscapes and rich biodiversity. We will continue to St Tropez, a glamorous harbour and delightful citadel where we will have time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will have the chance to walk around Cannes, famous for its International Film Festival, where the Promenade de la Crolsette and its majestic palaces stand out. Arrival in Nice and accommodation.
Day 12 : Nice - Grasse - St. Paul de Vence - Nice
Breakfast. In the morning, we will take a scenic tour of Nice, the capital of the French Riviera, which has a privileged location between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea and a rich artistic and cultural heritage. We will continue to Grasse, one of the perfume capitals which invites you to get lost in its streets. We will have the chance to visit the perfume factory Fragonard. Departure to St Paul de Vence, the “pearl” of the French Riviera which, since the late 19th century, turned into the favourite destination of artists like Matisse, Renoir or Miro. Accommodation.
Day 13 : Nice - Le Corrniche Road - Menton - Monaco/Montecarlo - Èze - Nice
Breakfast and departure on a day trip that will take us to the beautiful Le Corniche Road, with spectacular views of the coast. We will stop at Menton, a beautiful town with a turbulent past and, after that, we will continue to the Principality of Monaco. We will visit Montecarlo, with is famous casino and will admire the palace of the Grimaldi family with its views of the bay. In the afternoon, we will have some spare time to get lost in the delightful medieval streets of Èze, a medieval town and a meeting point of the high society. Return to Nice and accommodation.
Day 14 : Nice - Home town
Breakfast at the hotel and spare time until departure time. End of our services.
