Day 1 : Place of origin - Lisbon

Arrival in Lisbon and accommodation. Spare time to rest from the journey or first contact with the city of Lisbon. Accommodation.


Day 2  : Lisbon - Obidos - Batalha - Porto

Breakfast and departure to the north of Portugal. Arrival in Obidos and tour with a local guide in one of the best-preserved medieval villages. Inside the wall, not only will we find a fantastic castle, but we will also find a maze of narrow streets and white houses which anyone who walks around finds fascinating. We will continue to the Batalha Monastery, a Portuguese Gothic masterpiece, which was built in pursuance of a vow by Joao I, King of Portugal, who promised the Virgin that he would build it if Portugal beat Castile in the battle of Aljubarrota. We will continue to Porto and accommodation.

Day 3 : Porto

Breakfast. In the morning, we will take a scenic tour of Porto: Lapa Church, Praça dos Aliados, Douro river and its bridges, etc. We will finish with a tour and a tasting in a Port winery. Spare afternoon. In the evening dinner on board a Rabelo boat, a traditional vessel which was specially conceived to sail the Duero river. Journey to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 4 : Porto - Braga - Guimaraes - Douro Region

Breakfast. Departure to Braga and tour with a local guide. This city was founded more than 2000 years ago and has the oldest cathedral in the country, from the 12th century. We will get the funicular to the Bom Jesus de Braga Sanctuary from where we will admire the baroque stairs and contemplate the spectacular view of the city. Departure to Guimaraes, considered the birthplace of the country. During our visit with a local guide, we will discover the maze of medieval streets of this town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will continue to the region of Douro. Accommodation.

Day 5 : Region of Douro

Breakfast. We will spend the day discovering this fascinating wine region, one of the most ancient regions in the world and a World Heritage Site. We will take a cruise along the Douro river, the best way to discover the valley and its ancient vineyards in terraces. Lunch included in Casal de Loivos, a stately property built in the 12th century and located on top of a hill with unique views of the river. In the afternoon, we will have time to visit the historical town of Lamego, founded by Romans and occupied by both Visigoths and Arabs. We will finish our day with a tour and tasting of one of the traditional and bucolic Quintas, historical wine production states. Journey to the hotel and accommodation.

Day  6 : Douro - Averio - Coímbra

Breakfast. Departure to Aveiro. Guided tour of the so-called Portuguese Venice: the university, the striped houses, etc. After that, we will walk around the Aveiro estuary on the typical boat, the moliceiro. We will continue to Coimbra and take a scenic tour with entrance to the university: the Upper Part, the Lower Part, Santa Clara la Nueva, Joanina Library, etc. Journey to the hotel and accommodation.

 Day 7 :  Coimbra - Evora - Lisbon

Breakfast and departure to the city of Evora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During our scenic tour, we will visit the Roman temple of the 1st century or Praça do Giraldo and will enter the fascinating and mysterious Chapel of Bones. After that, we will visit the herdade of Cartuxa and will taste these excellent wines. We will continue to Lisbon, arrival and accommodation.

Day 8 : Lisbon

Breakfast and start of the scenic tour of the city of Lisbon: the Monument of the Discoveries, Commerce Square, Marquis of Pombal Square... We will also take the lift to Santa Justa to visit the upper part and see the best views of the Portuguese capital. During the morning, we will stop on our way to have a “bica” (coffee) and taste one of the typical pastries in one of the charming vintage cafés. In the afternoon, we will visit the magnificent Jeronimos Monastery from the 16th century and the Torre de Belen, a symbol of the city built along the banks of Tagus River. Journey to the hotel and accommodation.


Day 9 : Lisbon - Sintra - Cascais - Ericeia - Lisbon

Breakfast. Departure to Cascais, a fishing village with a beautiful bay in the Atlantic Ocean. We will continue to Ericeia, a summer resort where we will have the traditional fish soup for lunch, which is considered the best in the country. In the afternoon, we will discover Sintra, where we will visit the Pena Palace, one of the first examples of romantic European architecture. Return to Lisbon. In the evening, we will attend a Fados show, the typical Portuguese folklore, accompanied with a dinner where we will taste the delicious Portuguese gastronomy. Journey to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 10 : Lisbon - Home town

Breakfast and spare time until departure time.

Day 11 : Lisbon - Albufeira

Breakfast. At the designated time, departure to the south of Portugal. Arrival in Albufeira, one of the most lively and picturesque towns in Algarve. We will take a scenic tour of its old town with white houses facing the sea and its delightful streets. Accommodation at the hotel and spare time. Accommodation.

Day 12 :  Albufeira: Trip to Lagos - Sagres - Cape St. Vincent

Breakfast. We will start the day by visiting Lagos, a traditionally seafaring town which was one of the building sites of the caravels used by Portuguese explorers such as Henry the Navigator. The rocky and rugged coast has given way to several caverns and caves. We will have the chance to discover them on a boat tour we will take along the coast, which will take us to discover caves such as Benagil. After that, we will continue to Sagres, with its fortress and one of the best sceneries in Algarve. We will arrive in Cape St. Vincent, with its lighthouse and 16th-century monastery, which is known as World’s End. Return to Albufeira. Accommodation.

Day 13 : Albufeira - Setubal - Lisbon

Breakfast. Departure to Setubal, originally a fishing village which turned into one of most active harbours in Portugal. Its fish market, which we will discover during our scenic tour, is particularly impressive, as well as the Aqueduto dos Arcos, Castelo de Sao Filipe or the walls. Spare time for lunch and we will continue to Lisbon. Arrival and accommodation.

Day 14 :   Lisbon - Home town

Breakfast at the hotel and spare time until departure time. End of our services.
